Look Before You Login

A recent phishing email came across our desks (or screens…we are IT). The email directed its’ intended victim to click on a link, which then prompted them to sign into their Microsoft account. The sign in page is a (very well done) fake. This brings up the question of how would you know if a log in page is fake?
Tip: Before entering your password on the webpage, check the page’s URL address.

Clues that you may have logged into a fake login page:
- After you log in, (nothing happens) the login page remains on your screen.
- After you log in, you see a document or page that is not what you were expecting.
What to do if you think you logged in to a fake login page:
- Begin changing ALL passwords on accounts that use this email/user name and that have the same password.
